Office Plant of the Week - Aglaonema
The Aglaonema is one of the most popular tropical plants for office use. The plant is native to south-east Asia where it is incredibly common. This is why it is also known as the Chinese evergreen. They have been used as luck-bringing plants in China for centuries.
It is a very drought-tolerant plant and can often go weeks without needing water which makes them ideal for office plants. They are intolerant however to low temperatures and low light. One of the reasons the aglaonema is such a popular office plant is the large leaves have been proven to be fantastic air purifiers, removing toxins such as benzene.
